To the best basketball player in the world.
Mr Livingstone,
I am writing this letter to try and persuade you that I am innocent. I know I have a lot of evidence against me, I know it is hard to believe me.
Now I will tell you what happened. I had just gotten out of English the last lesson of the day. Derrick Dunne stole my textbook and flushed it down the toilet! I spent thirty minutes trying to get it out. In the end I gave up. Derrick made me miss the bus. I was walking down grey street at three thirty pm when I stopped at a traffic light. Then I heard a whooshing noise and a pair of sneakers fell on my head. I looked up and saw a boy running away.
So that is my story. I really hope you believe me now.
Yours Sincerely,
Stanley Yelnats.
PS If I get out I will buy you a new pair of sneakers
PS You're my Hero!!!
